Brian Jones/Program Founder and Developer
Gymnastics is Brian’s passion. In high school, he was named an All-American Gymnast. He has been a career gymnastic coach with over 30 years of experience. Brian has been a gymnastics club owner for 17 years and is Safety Certified through USA Gymnastics.

During the early 1990’s Brian began working with young individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down syndrome and physical challenges. Today, his coaching experience includes work with children aged 12 months through 18 years.

In 2003, PowerKids was formed as a one of a kind group fitness program designed to accommodate a broad range of physical and cognitive challenges.

In 2004, Brian created DeVeau’s Darlings and Devils – an integrated performance group – to facilitate a performance experience shared by children with and without disabilities.

In 2008, PowerKids was honored by the Autism Society of Indiana with its Award of Excellence for Alternative Therapy.

In 2011, Brian attended the World Gymnaestrada in Lausanne, Switzerland, where he had the opportunity to observe, interact with, and learn from special needs performance groups from around the world. The World Gymnaestrada pulls together more than 25,000 gymnastics performers.

Brian has also expanded his coaching abilities by successfully help teens develop skills necessary for successful employment following graduation from high school.

Working with individuals with special needs is more than a vocation for Brian; it’s also his avocation. He has created and chaired fundraising events for the Autism Society of Indiana and served on the board of directors of a local support group.
